FORENSICS OVERVIEW

Computer forensics, also known as digital forensics, is a practice that examines digital evidence and recovers data to be used in a civil or criminal legal proceeding.

The process of investigating digital evidence must be conducted in a forensically sound manner to ensure court admissibility.

Computer forensics also provides a means for "e-discovery" or "electronic discovery", which allows for disclosure of the digital evidence for parties involved in litigation. Indications of data theft, employee theft, employee compliance and policy violation, embezzlement, fraud, and other cyber crimes can be uncovered during a computer forensic examination.

OUR PROCESS

Consultation: The process will begin with a consultation session to ensure the appropriate services are provided to suit your needs.

Obtain the evidence: At NDI, we will work with you to ensure proper and secure packaging to be shipped to our examination lab. If the evidence cannot leave your site, NDI will perform the proper procedures to obtain the needed evidence.

Forensic Analysis: While ensuring proper chain of custody procedures, NDI will conduct a thorough investigation of the evidence to recover and decipher the information needed determined in the consultation phase.

Reporting:  The results of the forensic examination will be conveyed in a formal report including a summary of the findings and the relevant data and files supporting the conclusion.

Expert Witness support:  NDI will be available as needed to testify pertaining to the procedures and methodologies used in the investigation.
